About Conférence St Vincent De Paul De Saint Luc

Overview

Conference St-Vincent-De-Paul De Saint-Luc is a charitable organization that aims to provide assistance and support to individuals and families in need within the Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu community. With a focus on alleviating poverty and promoting social justice, the charity offers various programs and services to address the diverse needs of the population. Through collaborative efforts and community partnerships, Conference St-Vincent-De-Paul De Saint-Luc works towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

Mission

Conférence St-Vincent-de-Paul de Saint-Luc is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to fight poverty and social exclusion among individuals and disadvantaged families in the Saint-Luc sector of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Rooted in the heritage of St. Vincent de Paul, it places itself at the service of people in difficulty without judgment, offering aid discreetly and with respect for each person's dignity.

Vision

While no formal vision statement is published, the Conference's language consistently points toward a future in which individuals and families in the Saint-Luc sector achieve greater stability, dignity, and hope, and where asking for help is normalized as an act of courage rather than shame. It envisions a community where the most disadvantaged are accompanied with respect and proximity, inspired by the Vincentian heritage of serving "with joy, justice and love" and the broader Society's motto of serving "with hope."

Unique value proposition

The organization distinguishes itself as a hyper-local, donations-stay-local model that channels more than $150,000 annually in direct aid to nearly 2,000 people specifically within the Saint-Luc sector. It is almost entirely volunteer-run, with about 150 members sustaining operations largely through its self-financing thrift store rather than heavy reliance on government funding, and it uses a hallmark Vincentian home-visit assessment method to understand and respond to each beneficiary's situation personally and discreetly.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about getting started.

How does WellFunded work?

Donor-advised funds, wealth advisors and foundations use WellFunded to find, research and fund Canadian charities. Instead of rewriting the same proposal for every funder, you complete one profile and it's ready for all of them. Fill in a few short sections and upload your annual report, and we'll turn it into an impact page funders can find by cause, location and program.

Do I need to apply for funding?

No. Funders search WellFunded for charities that match what they want to support, and your profile is what they find. When a funder wants to know more, you'll hear from us. Some funders also post Giving Opportunities for a specific focus, and you can respond to those with the profile you've already built.

What does it cost?

WellFunded is free for charities. We don't charge transaction fees, and we never take a cut of any gift. Funders pay to use the platform.

Who sees my profile?

Donor-advised funds, advisors and foundations using WellFunded to research charities. Together they manage over $2.3B in charitable assets. WellFunded isn't open to the general public.

What is a WellCheck?

When a funder is seriously considering your charity, they may ask for a WellCheck. It's a short set of questions plus a few documents, reviewed alongside your audited financials and CRA filings. We present findings, not verdicts: no scores and no rankings. Do it once, and it's ready for every funder who asks after that.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your data stays in Canada, and we never sell it. See our privacy policy for details.

Is this legitimate?

WellFunded is a Canadian company, built in B.C. by the team behind one of Canada's first online donor-advised funds. If you'd like to meet us first, book a small group session with Jeff, our co-founder and CEO.
