About Alberta Craft Council

Overview

Alberta Craft Council's mandate is to promote craft in Alberta. They maintain the only public fine craft gallery in Alberta, located in Edmonton and Calgary. The council develops and promotes 30 exhibitions annually, presenting them free to the public. They also publish a tri-annual magazine that highlights ACC members and fine craft culture in Alberta, in addition to maintaining a website that promotes ACC and member activity while connecting the public to the fine craft community.

To promote craft in Alberta, support contemporary and heritage crafts as significant art forms that contribute to Alberta's culture, and develop a craft sector of creative, skilled, viable, and sustainable craftspeople, studios, businesses, and networks.

The Alberta Craft Council is dedicated to ensuring the spirit of Treaty 6, 7 and 8 Territories is honoured and respected. They are committed to learning, listening, reflecting, and taking actionable steps in truth and reconciliation while celebrating and supporting the creativity of Indigenous crafts people.

Unique value proposition

The Alberta Craft Council operates Alberta's only public fine craft gallery, maintains the largest public gallery in the province dedicated to exhibiting craft arts, and runs a social enterprise model where 60% of retail sales go directly to artists while 40% supports programming and activities.

Philanthropists can browse charity profiles, see your funding needs, and express interest directly—saving you countless hours. We are soon rolling out a "two click granting" tool where donors can set their granting preferences and matching charities are automatically surfaced.

What does it cost?

WellFunded charges philanthropists today. For charities, WellFunded offers a free tier, with plans for affordable paid options that provide enhanced visibility and engagement tools. There will always be a free tier.

How does WellFunded help my charity get discovered?

Instead of relying on cold proposals or personal networks, WellFunded helps you get in front of philanthropists actively looking to give in your area of impact.

How does WellFunded ensure trust and transparency?

Charity profiles include leadership information, financial data, and clear funding needs. Philanthropists can also see impact reports and follow giving activity of other donors.
