About Canadian Bible Society / Societe Biblique Canadienne

Overview

The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is dedicated to helping people in Canada and around the world hear God speak through His Word. With a history dating back to 1809, CBS officially became a Canadian charity in 1906 and is part of the United Bible Societies (UBS), an interconfessional global fellowship of 150 Bible Societies working in 240 countries and territories. CBS operates across the full Bible lifecycle - we translate, publish, distribute, and help people engage with the Bible.

Mission

As a national religious charitable organization, the purposes of the Canadian Bible Society are to translate without doctrinal note, publish and distribute the Christian Scriptures, and to promote and encourage the use of the Bible, throughout Canada and worldwide in cooperation with members of the United Bible Societies and other organizations.

Vision

CBS’ vision is to help people hear God speak through His written Word, the Bible, so that they would encounter and know the Living Word, Jesus Christ.

Values

  • We value churches as the primary agents of God's mission in the world.
  • We value resources that help people engage with the Word of God.
  • We value all the different media that enable us to share the Bible.
  • We value the affordability of the Bible for all.
  • We value each other as partners seeking to serve one another, serving the churches together in the same spirit in which Christ served them.
  • We value open relationships, mutual accountability, and stewardship of God-given resources.

Everything you need to know about getting started

WellFunded eliminates the inefficiencies, inequities and ineffectiveness of traditional fundraising by centralizing and standardizing the process. Instead of spending time on endless grant applications, you create a single, detailed profile that philanthropists and foundations can easily discover and fund. Our other tools like our centralized due diligence tool and "2 click grants" (coming soon) build off of this core concept: that we can make things radically better by centralizing them on one common platform.

Philanthropists can browse charity profiles, see your funding needs, and express interest directly—saving you countless hours. We are soon rolling out a "two click granting" tool where donors can set their granting preferences and if your charity matches their preferences, you will automatically be notified in your dashboard, and can send your portrait onward right through to their WellFunded dashboard. Sort of like applying to a job through LinkedIn Easy Apply.

WellFunded charges philanthropists presently. For charities, WellFunded offers a free tier, with plans for affordable paid options that provide enhanced visibility and engagement tools. However, we will always have a free tier. We will introduce pricing once enough active donors use the platform to influence giving.

Instead of relying on cold proposals or personal networks, WellFunded helps you get in front of philanthropists actively looking to give in your area of impact. With advanced search tools and standardized due diligence, your work speaks for itself—helping you build trust and attract new donors.

Charity profiles include leadership information, financial data, and clear funding needs. Philanthropists can also see impact reports and follow the giving activity of other donors, creating a more open and transparent ecosystem.

Yes. WellFunded prioritizes data security and does not sell or share your private information outside the platform.
