HSHC strives to optimize the sexual and reproductive health of all Nova Scotians through expert clinical care, education, and advocacy delivered in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment.

All members of the community have full, equal, non-judgmental, and safe access to sexual and reproductive health care and education. HSHC works toward a future where healthy sexuality is recognized as positive and life-affirming for all people at every stage of life, and where financial, social, or identity-based barriers do not prevent anyone from accessing the care they need.

HSHC distinguishes itself through its decades-long commitment to removing financial, social, and identity-based barriers to sexual health care. Its nationally recognized Compassionate Contraceptives Program — a 2023 Bentley Award recipient — provides a broad range of contraceptive methods at below-pharmacy prices, funded entirely through private donations. The Centre serves people of all ages, gender identities, and sexual orientations without requiring parental consent for youth, and makes an explicit effort to meet the needs of 2SLGBTQ+ communities, including offering gender-affirming hormone initiation without a waitlist. This combination of inclusive clinical care, community education, and social work support under one roof makes HSHC a uniquely comprehensive sexual health resource in the region.

WellFunded charges philanthropists today. For charities, WellFunded offers a free tier, with plans for affordable paid options that provide enhanced visibility and engagement tools. There will always be a free tier.

How does WellFunded ensure trust and transparency?
