Kamloops Search and Rescue Society (KSAR) works in conjunction with the R.C.M.P., BC Ambulance Service, Coroners Office, and Emergency Management BC (EMBC) to provide quality care and speedy recovery of individuals who are lost or injured while enjoying the BC Interior wilderness. They also conduct urban searches in and around the city of Kamloops. In the last fiscal year, KSAR was tasked out 46 times by EMBC for approximately 2589 man-hours. Additionally, they dedicated 5686 man-hours to 75 training exercises and 47 other events. KSAR also provides school-age children with instruction on safety in the outdoors through the Outdoor Safety AdventureSmart Wilderness Safety Programs.
