Mission

The MacKenzie Art Gallery exists to foster transformative experiences of the world through art. It serves as Saskatchewan's oldest public art museum, holding a permanent collection in trust for the community and acting as the province's only institution with the mandate and facilities to address an encyclopedic range of visual art and culture. The Gallery is committed to responsible stewardship of its collection while celebrating collective identity, grounded in Indigenous values and enriched by all the peoples who call the region home.

Unique value proposition

The MacKenzie Art Gallery holds a singular position as Saskatchewan's oldest public art gallery and one of Canada's leading champions of Indigenous art, with a pioneering history dating to 1975 when it became the first public art gallery in Canada to present traditional First Nations objects as fine art. It is the only provincial institution with the mandate and Class A Museum facilities to address an encyclopedic range of visual art and culture. The Gallery further distinguished itself by appointing the first Indigenous person to serve as Executive Director and CEO of a public art gallery in Canada, and by hiring the first Indigenous head curator at a public gallery, reflecting a deep institutional commitment to Indigenous self-determination, reconciliation, and the centering of Indigenous voices in its governance, programming, and collection.

Do I need to apply for funding through WellFunded?

Philanthropists can browse charity profiles, see your funding needs, and express interest directly—saving you countless hours. We are soon rolling out a "two click granting" tool where donors can set their granting preferences and matching charities are automatically surfaced.

What does it cost?

WellFunded charges philanthropists today. For charities, WellFunded offers a free tier, with plans for affordable paid options that provide enhanced visibility and engagement tools. There will always be a free tier.

How does WellFunded help my charity get discovered?

Instead of relying on cold proposals or personal networks, WellFunded helps you get in front of philanthropists actively looking to give in your area of impact.

How does WellFunded ensure trust and transparency?

Charity profiles include leadership information, financial data, and clear funding needs. Philanthropists can also see impact reports and follow giving activity of other donors.
